San Marzano Salsa

Tools Used: Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl, Santoku Chef Knife, Eco Chop, Sels Salt Grinder


Ingredients

  • 28 oz can San Marzano whole tomatoes

  • 2 scallion (green onions), sliced

  • 1/2 red onion

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 1 jalapeno pepper (seeded)

  • 1/3 cup cilantro

  • 3/4 teaspoon cumin

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1 large lime (juiced)

  • 1 pinch Sel Gris salt (sea salt or Kosher)


Directions

  • Remove the tomatoes from the can with a slotted spoon and chop in batches in the Eco Chop.

  • Chop the remaining ingredients (except the scallions) in the Eco Chop.

  • Mix everything together in the Stainless Mixing Bowl.

  • Season to taste.


* This salsa is delicious and easy to make.  The San Marzano tomatoes and the smoked paprika give it a wonderful flavor.  If you have never tried the San Marzano tomatoes, they are found in the canned tomato section aisle of the grocery store.  They are grown in a specific region of Italy or can be grown in California.  Enjoy this salsa with your favorite chips, tacos, or scrambled eggs with cheese.
