French Dressing

Do you know how easy it is to make your own dressing? It is very simple! Once you start making your own dressing you will not purchase the bottled kind anymore! My husband loves French dressing. His mother would make it all the time.

Use regular ketchup if you would like, or to be a bit healthier and use a brand that has not added sugar. I found a G Hughes sugar free ketchup brand that I like. It does not have any high fructose corn syrup or artificial preservatives.

I did use the Mini Whisk to combine the dressing but a jar works well too. If you would like it really combined and it will not separate, use a blender or food processor.

bon COOK tools used: Le Petit Grater, Mini Whisk, FRENCH PANTRY EVOO

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup FRENCH PANTRY EVOO

  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1/2 cup ketchup (I used a not sugar added variety)

  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup

  • 1/2-2 tablespoons grated onion

  • (depends on how onion-y you want it)

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/2-1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Place oil, vinegar, ketchup, maple syrup, grated onion, paprika, and salt into a mason jar, blender, or food processor.

Seal and shake or blend until well combined.

Taste and reseason if necessary.

Store leftovers in a sealed airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.  Let come to room temperature before serving.
